Post-blizzard Garden Beauty

After last week's "Blizzard of 2013" (a.k.a. 'Nemo') the garden took on a beauty that only winter avails.
The fire-yellow blossoms of early-blooming
 Chinese Witchhazel (Hamamelis mollis)
brighten the winter garden

The bright red berries of Winterberry (Ilex verticillata)
always cheer the heart

The grand Copper Beech (Fagus silvaticus) looks as
dignified when barren as when it is in full leaf
